This artist book was made on the occasion of a solo exhibition of the same title at Taka Ishii Gallery. While developing experimental photographic techniques in the late 1970s, Sugiura produced work that straddled the fields of painting and photography. This book reproduces ten “photo-paintings” and six photo collages, and includes a text by Gen Umezu, curator at The Museum of Modern Art, Saitama.
